    I came here because i admire your style but found out you coincidentally are using similar cold-day technique i started to back in about april this year. What i like about it is with heat everyday i notice it eventually STOPS styling better, when that happens i know its time for a day without heat. Personally for me i tried it on a whim simply because adding heat was going backwards for me despite using low temps. I often us extra butter on these days, but daytime butter isn't for everyone my hair just seems to take well to it. Specifically slicker rather then thicker butters like Bahawat, Honest Amish PURE, 8bit, Copper Johns, Ruddy man Summer (liquid) butter, or anything that is very slick rather then thick and sticky seems to do the trick for me. *Note with 8Bit and Copper Johns, maybe a few i haven't found is it prefers scooping a certain way by by swirling finger around to pick up loosened/heated butter, somehow this works better then simply scooping a blob and just heating in hands best i can, 🤷clueless as to why this is maybe the mix just heats up more consistently with such technique, avoiding stickyness that otherwise results. On my thicker butters (not mentioned by name) this doesn't work sadly.

      @GregBoswell428 4 часа назад

      You make some really good points here and I appreciate the tips you provided. When it comes to butters, I feel the same way. I don’t like thick, sticky butter either. I need to connect with some of the companies you mentioned here.

    So, gonna do this today. Side note, notice your beard is black/grey. Mine is red/grey. Do you use oil on the thicker side? Or maybe add a few drops of castor or argan oil to help with the grey?

    • @GregBoswell428
      @GregBoswell428 5 часов назад

    Hi Greg, I just did the whole process and it works, my beard has a very similar style to when I use heat, it just looks a little shorter, but that's okay. I use heat in the morning but sometimes I go out at night but I don't want to use heat twice a day, this process is perfect. thanks good video 👍

    True 9mm would be achieved going against the grain, many hairs go along and close to the skin and are not trimmed by going with the grain so you now have mostly 9mm with some places with much more length than that like under the chin. If it was against the grain lifting up all hairs while trimming then you would be truly 9mm on every single hair on your face.

    Alright so I started shaving my dome a few weeks ago. I initially bought the Remington shortcut pro, and used that for a bit but every time I shaved there was stubble everywhere. After watching your “how to shave with a razor” video I went full on smooth shave. Started with the Freebird, then the Brio Raze (which you recommended) and they were ok but you have to push hard to get an even cut and even then it’s subpar and left me like a had used a cheese grater on my scalp. Bought the Omni Shaver a few days ago and wasn’t impressed at first. Today I decided to try it whilst showering and the son of a gun did a phenomenal job. My head is as smooth as a bowling ball and feels aaaaaamazing! I am sold…

    I finally decided to just let my beard grow (and shave my head) during COVID, and I kind of liked it. The head looked better than I thought, and I actually almost have a beard! I even continued the look post COVID, out in the wild, and people seem to like it too. My beard doesn't grow very long, though... it continuously grows for about 6 months, and then just sits there, haha.

    Thank you Greg! I'm going to try this tomorrow! With a fairly short beard and sparse in many areas, I'm always nervous using heat to tame it. Mostly the sideburns and mid to lower cheek areas. I don't like how balm makes my beard feel and look and butter isn't quite enough depending on the air. Winter in New Hampshire makes my beard go berserk which is when I use heat the most.

    • @GregBoswell428
      @GregBoswell428 2 дня назад

      I know what you mean. I’ve gravitated more toward butter over the last couple of years rather than balm. It really depends. I jump back and forth between the two depending on the consistency and the need for the day.

    My controlling father did this all the time, often these people sort of know they are sometimes stupid and say stupid things, that may be why they are so defensive when you question them ( I suspect the tone of my voice changes because once again I am dumbfounded by the answer I just got). I have been on this earth for more than half a century and I am still trying to improve my communication skills......My Girlfriend is very much like my father was ( so a psychologist says I am repeating the family pattern because it is what I am use too and it feels normal or comfortable and I am still trying to fix the problem). The people in my life tend to be like the first three examples and not like the later. I think they just like to hear themselves talk? I think they have some what of a narcissistic personality trait and therefore tend to make everything about themselves. They dominate conversations go on long winding stories and if you get the chance to speak will often say wow you tell long stories.......I think they feel my stories are long because as narcissists it is all about them.......most the time you jest let them rant on and listen but should you get the opportunity to tell your story they say wow you talk a lot!!!!!!! I think this is because they are use to dominating a conversation so having to listen to you for a change makes them no center stage and they doing like it. Here are some examples: I ask are you Hungry? They go on to tell me everything they did and didn't eat that day but never answer the question "are you hungry". I am looking for you and your large son in a crowd, I think I see you and him because he is wearing a bright red T shirt....we are on the phone trying to find each other and I say, " is your son wearing a red shirt" rather than just say Yes, the answer I got was" he is wearing a shirt he got at camp last year"...... turns out the shirt is red but she never acknowledged that. we are looking for a notebook in her house, I ask her, is it a spiral note book or composition style note book we are looking for, she says composition. I said, " ok what color is the not book" her answer is MARBLE. I say Maribel is not a color what color is it.......eventually she says it is a black marble composition book ........

    Great to see you back in action Greg! And funny enough its on beard trim day. As a hat guy my favorites are flat caps, Panamas, Australian outbacks, and buckets, depending on event/activity and formality. One thing I'll say about sizing- if you have a large melon like me "one size fits all/most" rarely does. Forcing a hat you really like strains the hat and puts a lot of strain on your head, not good combined with summer heat.

    Had tubes in my ear when I was a kid, my parents were neglectful, never got them removed til years later. As a middle aged guy I had been having problems with intermittent dizziness for years. Thought I must have a brain tumor or something, it was terrifying. Finally got my courage up and went to a doctor, she grabbed one of these elephant ear wax removers and flushed out a hard solid cap of ear wax (like yours) that was probably in there for years. It was the culprit. I feel silly that I waited so long.

    Just started buzz cutting my noggin about a month ago. I’m 48 y/o, and have a fairly large head and starting to thin out up front so one day I went to the barber to get a cut and said “just shave it off”. I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it since and wifey seems to love the look. However, I’ve gotten annoyed with all those little hairs flying everywhere so this is the next step. I don’t think I’ll look that much different since the initial shock has worn off. I will say that having some sort of facial hair does help even out the look. I’ve had a goatee since I started getting facial hair back in the 80’s so at least I don’t look like a light bulb! Haha! 🤣 one question, why not shave against the grain from the get go and save some time?

      Because I have to work from the assumption that most of my viewers are first time head shavers at least somewhat new to the game. In many cases, I’m trying to show even experienced men how to avoid nicks, cuts, and razor burn. However, most of the time I do shave against the grain from the beginning because I’ve been doing it so long and my skin is used to it.

      Funny enough I shaved my head right after watching the video. Took a while and got a cut of two but damn I can’t stop touching my head. Coincidentally my wife uses the same conditioner! I think I’m going to invest in a quality skull shaver and just shave in the shower though. Any thoughts on a good one? I’ve read good reviews about the Bull Dog!

    Thank you for the video, I've been dealing with the same issue and cotton swabs don't work at all.

    Harry’s razors are nowhere near the quality of Gillette. And that’s from experience. I use a Gillette five blades. The best.
